With competitive swimming as the team's mission, the ultimate goal of of everything the team does is having a strong swimming program. Such a program is structured to bring out the best swimmer in every member from the time they first show up at practice until they meet their own personal fitness or competition goals. Fundamental goals of this discipline are:
- Develop and support a seasonal workout plan that fosters a high level of fitness for adult men and women of any age. The plan should consider competitive events designated by the board or steering committee.
- Discover and follow the best coaching and workout practices that fit masters swimming.
- Provide an entry point for people new to swimming, and a re-entry point for people with previous experience.
- Encourage regular practice attendance through a seasonal workout plan, and periodic challenges.
- Support swimmers who want to compete--from a swimming perspective.
